I’ll start with Dana’s speech

1. Introduction
- What technique(s) was used in the introduction? Asking a question+ Dana referred to the previous speaker

- Any link-element?  Yes. The link element was given, it made the transition smooth

- Was the thesis statement given? "Therefore, it (the body) really needs to be organized"

- How effective was the introduction?

- How well structured was the information presented?
The information was well structured, it was quite easy to follow. But I think there was not enough signposts.

The organization pattern is Topical because Dana talked about different organizational patterns

The information was clearly explained.

- Quality of point-support (appropriateness, completeness, variety)
The speaker didn’t use many examples or illustrations.

- Was it coherent? Yes, it was coherent and logical

Now let’s move to Anya’s speech.

- What technique(s) was used in the introduction? Giving a quotation and asking a question. Honestly, I don‘t see how the quotation would sound within the speech, but I really liked the questions.

- Any link-element? There was a link element, which helped to make the transition to the statement smooth and logical

- Was the thesis statement given? "The knowledge of certain influential techniques can significantly increase the chances that the audience will be persuaded by your speech."

- How effective was the introduction?

The information was well-structured and outlined. Moreover, the speaker used frequent signposts, so it was easy to follow

The organization pattern that was used is, I think, topical, because Anya talked about principles and aspects of persuasive speaking.

Anya supported her points by giving explanations, facts and examples
