Evaluation - Toastmasters 2017

It's time to evaluate speakers again! To be more objective I am going to use an evaluation chart from my textbook, you can use it and analyze somebody’s speech too!
Evaluation is very important. It helps us to become better listeners and better speakers, because every speech we give is evaluated.
The speakers I am going to write about are the winners of Toastmasters 2017.

I would like to analyze Kevin Stamper's performance, because I like it more than other's, despite the fact that his place is just the 3-rd.

First of all, Kevin's speech is persuasive and motivating! He interacts with the audience, speaks to them and wants to hear back from them. And he succeeds in encouraging people to think of the power of their voice, judging by the responsiveness of the public.
Kevin’s message was clear and well-structured. His speech can be divided in several parts, according to the stories he told. I like the short explanation of the physiological act of speaking. What can prove better than the science? It was interesting to listen to different types of stories, although from some point, it made the speech inconsistent. All these stories served as arguments to one point and therefore eventually every listener, I believe, was convinced, but I had a feeling that the transitions from one part to another were not very smooth. Some stories, however, were connected by the repetition (taught compassion and patience and how to serve) and he was able to unify all the facts and stories together.
The speech is full of humor, but it is used naturally, without unnecessary jokes, making the whole performance look like a stand-up. Emotions and the main idea are prevailing, while jokes help to establish closer connection, evoke emotions and draw attention.
It was pleasant to listen to him. Kevin worked perfectly with his voice: made pauses, emphasised important phrases, had clear articulation, good accent, varied pitch and volume. Sometimes he almost shouted, which was very emotional and touching. Sometimes he spoke slowly in a very low voice, which made everyone hold their breath and listen.
Kevin maintained eye contact, his gestures and face expressions were helpful and suitable. The movements were not distracting or showing nervousness. He is handsome and well-dressed!
The content of speech is also beautiful, especially I was amazed by the phrase - "I am here not because I have something to say, but because I believe you have something important and it's your responsibility to speak up". This utterance changes the focus of attention and makes the listener the important figure.
The speech ends where it starts - the audience count till 3, but this time is different, because now they feel the power of their voices.

This performance is really worth watching, because it reminds us how unique we all are and that we deserve to be heard.
But it is our responsibility to speak up!

Thanks for reading! Let me know what do you think of Kevin's speech? What is you favourite one?
