Creative enough

Encourage more risk' - PR's battle to promote creativity | PR Week

Writing a good speech requires not just your time and effort, but also creativity and inspiration. As our groupmate said, anyone can be creative, we should just know how to boost our imagination.

I love the method, that was invented by Edward de Bono, famous for his books and lectures on “lateral thinking”. "You should take a subject on which you are preparing a speech, pick a word at random from the dictionary and then try and make a connection between the two, even if it sounds stupid" -says the author.

This method is quite simple in the terms of equipment, all you need is a dictionary and a brain. At the same time it is not only helful to get fresh ideas, but it also develops cognitive skills.

I chose the topic "You are your best friend". Let's take a dictionary and see what we can do.
The first word I picked is "deny". I am quite lucky, because we deny things so often that this word can be connected to almost everything.
People often deny that they are good enough and are not worse than other people.

Another word is "Lawyer". We blame ourselves, forgetting that we are the most powerful lawyers for ourselves. We create the rules of our lives and protect ourselves no matter what.

And the third word I picked - predator. Living in the world of predators we often can not rely on someone else and believe anybody else but yourself.

This was really interesting experience. I took great pleasure doing this task! Tell me, have you tried it? Did you also enjoy or something went wrong?
