CHALLENGE #3

I talked to a blogger. 

     Today this phrase could mean "I talked to a stranger". You know, bloggers are everywhere. Everyone has or wants a blog. And apparently, the most popular platform for them is Instagram. 
We select people to be our TV programs and watch them everyday, sometimes interact, asking questions, giving likes and comments. The more famous the blogger is the harder it is to get in touch. But I just watch. I don't have an urge to communicate with everybody I see. Yet, some people are worth the attempt. 
     I've chosen the blogger who is not very popular yet, (otherwise there would be no reply) and started with a reaction to her post. She has a blog dedicated to feminism, by the way, but I like her just as a person and I was curious if we could become friends. 
     I said: you look very much like your sister here.
     She replied: do you think so??
 I liked that it let me continue the conversation without being intrusive, and we continued some kind of small talk... anyway, my challenge made me intrusive after all, and it was embarrassing to text again and again, asking questions and telling about myself, while her enthusiasm was about to disappear. I got venturous and desperate: if the conversation would be strange and unpleasant I would be embarrassed long after and she would probably share this messages with her subscribers. 
But we were still talking, and it became more personal, concerning our views and interests. I found out that we like similar music (I don't have similar music taste with any of my friends) and have similar views on feminism and politics. At the same time I felt that we are able to share with each other, OK at least she is able to share with we something I never knew or noticed. Do you know the feeling when you meet a person and feel that he/she can open a new world for you? That was the insight of mine at the end of our conversation. I really wanted to be sincere and I confessed it was a challenge, and that I was actually happy to complete it with her. I am not sure if we are going to be friends, but this experiment certainly left a lasting impression in me.
